Learning by experience seems to be the fastest way to make understanding stick.   The Rowleys, owners of Cherry Hill Farms, provide great opportunities by allowing the public to come out and pick produce themselves, tour the fruit orchards or purchase directly from their market.  This helps people in our community understand where their food they eat truly comes from and how it is cared for.
